It gives the viewer an off putting vibe throughout, and ends with an under the skin like villian. Relic (2020)- Nothing amazing in this movie but worth a watch if you like horror. Dark, shocking and scary, but also a bit beautiful. Basically a combination of Chronicle and Let the Right One In. The scene with Zach Gilford and Kate Siegel in the boat brought tears to my eyes and won't be forgotten soon. My favorite kind of blockbuster: Dark, powerful, with stunning and creative visuals (loved the blurry, hazy images) and one of the best scores of the year so far.

This was my favourite horror series in 2021. Some of Mike Flanagan's best work, slowly builds up almost all characters, giving even the drunkest child paralyzing characters redeeming qualities. Off topic but did you see the mini series Midnight Mass? It was made in 2021, 7 episodes broken into chapters about an hour long, following a town that starts experiencing miracles when a priest arrives. Also a surprise appearance from Hilary Swank. The side talent in this movie shine too, plenty of chuckles to even out the violence and tension. The hunt (2020) - Betty Gilpin acts well in a psychological twist to a democratic / Republican beef. Feels like this was directed by Jordan Peele.
Eerie feelings throughout.Īntebellum (2020) - Did you like Get Out? Perfect movie if you do. Literally can't say too much because the twist at the end cannot be spoiled. Weird, off setting, I don't want horror per say, but a psychological situation that can terrify.īlackbox (2020) - I found this family tale a lot more touching than Sinister with an A+ performance from Mamoudou.Ĭome True (2020) - def a unique take on this type of problem one can experience. ^ Great movie to watch if you want to see if your going to like my suggestions. No jump scares here, mind fucks and violence aplenty. Concepts are unique to the film and you won't have seen them before. Possessor Uncut (2020) - New film that feels just that way.

Sinister isn't too bad either, predictable but has cool ideas. I hate that man my bad, he has had a couple good performances tho. You ever see that movie where he ties a bomb around his body/is a priest? Anything with Ethan Hawke is pretty lame man let's admit that.
